Manawatu Woodworkers Guild

Ashhurst Village Valley Centre, Ashhurst, Palmerston North
(From Friday noon, all day Saturday and finishing 4pm Sunday)
A jamboree style event for all woodworking arts. Novice to skilled workers all welcome.
Bring your wood lathe, scroll saw, carving tools. Tools and wood, or just turn up to watch others.
A fun weekend and learning experience for all.
Raffles and display table.
Demonstrations by Chris Hooten and Bruce Wood will run throughout the weekend.
Material Suppliers invited to set up shop.
Saturday and Sunday registration includes lunch, morning and afternoon tea.
Come and join us at the Ashhurst Village Valley Centre and enjoy a full on weekend for all woodworking. The event will open Friday 19th July at 9.00 am and close for pack up on Sunday 21st July at 4.00 pm. Novice to skilled woodworkers welcome. Bring your tools and wood, or just turn up to socialise. There will be raffles throughout the weekend, and a competition display table – so bring your recent work to enter.
Chris Hooten (Taupo) and Bruce Wood (Auckland) will be running demonstrations throughout the weekend.
Ron from Treeworkx Sandpaper will be on site with his great selection of sandpaper, finishes and tools. A fun weekend and learning experience for all.
Register by 28th June 2019 to take advantage of our early bird rates.
Registration includes lunch, morning and afternoon tea on Saturday and Sunday. On Friday you will need to supply your own lunch, but tea and coffee with be available all day. Your partner is very welcome at a reduced fee. Partners with their own crafts can bring them along, as we will have space. Saturday night we will have our traditional buffet dinner for an additional cost. If you need a place to stay, billeting will be available on request.
Safety is of prime concern at the event so please read our health and safety rules. As a new measure this year all lathes must have a guard fitted. Please also consider that dust is an issue, so consider projects that generate minimal dust. Please try to avoid bringing timber which is known to cause adverse reactions. If you aren’t sure, feel free to ask.
